Relative Humidity is the most misunderstood of the basic industrial measurements that are regularly performed in manufacturing companies, affecting everything from the
quality of our food, the efficiency of processes, the accuracy of measurements, and the safety of our medicines. We will explore the very basics of relative humidity, looking
at the physics that drive water vapor dynamics, to better understand this critical measurement. We will review the types of instruments that have been historically used to
measure humidity, with a deeper look at the HUMICAP sensor from Vaisala.  This reliable sensor is used in demanding and critical applications ranging from exploring other
planets, to protecting our cultural heritage.
