Jun Bautista, PhD
Technology and Business Consultant (Crosspoint Engineering)
Dr. Bautista was working in the past in executive capacities for GEO Calibrations and American Gage. Currently, he is the Technology and Business Consultant position for Crosspoint Engineering. He was also the former Senior Director of Laboratory Operations at the Masy BioServices.
Dr. Bautista has over 33 years of combined experience in metrology, 18 years of which are Biotech, Bio-Pharmaceutical, and Biomedical Device related.
He has USAF PMEL experience, and 6 years of combined experience as Director of Operations & Corporate Metrology, Regional Manager and Senior Vice-President of several third- party calibration companies, one of which he co-founded.
Jun, was previously the Director of Corporate Metrology for Genzyme Corporation, the world’s fourth largest biotech corporation. There, he was responsible for the implementation and achievement of shared corporate goals, priorities, budgets, and strategic plans. He had responsibility for the efficient day-to-day operation of the four Genzyme metrology laboratories in Massachusetts.
Dr. Bautista holds a B.S. in Management Engineering, an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently completing his Post-Doctoral Research in Nanoparticle Physics & Nanorobotics at MIT. He is affiliated with NCSLi, MSC, ASQ, and a member of the Panel of Experts for USP 41, USP 1251, USP 641, USP 645 and the ASTM E 20 and E60 committees. He is now the Chairperson for the NCSLi Committee 152 – Chemical Metrology and just recently appointed as part of the Technical Programs Committee for the Measurement Science Conference (MSC).
