Stanley Pond is the lead metrologist, owner, and founder of Pond Engineering Laboratories, Inc. Stan graduated from California State University – Fresno in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and started Pond Engineering in 1980 with a focus on designing and building custom instruments and laboratory equipment. Beginning in 1990, Stan began designing and building systems associated with primary temperature standards including precise comparators, thermometric fixed points and their associated maintenance systems. Pond Engineering’s range of primary temperature metrology products began with the introduction of the model K12 precision comparison furnace in 1992, the model K18 Mercury triple point system in 1994, and the model K38 Argon triple point system in 1995. Over the years, Pond Engineering’s focus has been to develop cost effective, robust systems which are easy to use and provide some of the lowest uncertainties available anywhere. Our products currently span the SPRT interpolation range of ITS-90 from Argon through Silver. In XXXX, Stan was asked to chair the RISP committee on the Realization of the Argon Triple Point.
