Larry S. Newman has been in the metrology industry, holding various technical positions, for the past 30 years. During his tenure, he spent 18 years calibrating, repairing and training other technicians and users on proper pipette use, calibration and repair. He has been a consultant to pipette manufacturers and pipette calibration system manufacturing companies. Currently, Larry is employed by Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Sr. Manager in the global EHS department supporting internal customers for all of their asset management and metrology needs. Most people find his training sessions uplifting and exciting as he places more emphasis on quality methodology in metrology when he presents on any discipline in metrology. Larry currently resides in Oceanside, CA and is married with two daughters. He has supported the MSC for 24 years in various rolls.

Abstract:
This class is a full day introduction to Automated Meter Calibrations with Measurement Uncertainty Integration. The class will cover everything from creating Test Packages and automating those using Metrology Blocks™. Then students will move on to 17025 Measurement Uncertainty budgets created in Excel and how they are loaded / used in Metrology.NET. Students well as learn how the software calculates TUR’s, Confidence and RISK, all part of the new ISO/IEC 17025:2017. This will be hands on training, everything from Creating, Editing, debugging Automation as-well-as running it both Automated & Manual calibration modes.
